Sunshine Coast, B.C. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield announced today that the Tsunami has acquired 2005-born defenceman Caige Starr (Carry the Kettle First Nation, SK.) from the SIJHL’s Fort Frances Lakers in exchange for a player development.

Starr (6’4”, 215 pounds) spent the past season with the Lakers, scoring two goals and recording 16 assists for 18 points in 37 regular-season contests. He also played in two games with them this season.

The left-shot blueliner brings valuable junior hockey experience and energy to the Tsunami.

“With Starrsy, we get a veteran defender that comes with the ability to play and provides us with a huge physical presence on the back end that will for sure make it uncomfortable for other teams to play against the Tsunami,” said General Manager and Head Coach Brad Wingfield. “

The organization would like to welcome Caige to the Coastal Tsunami.

The Tsunami are back in action on Sunday night when they host the Surrey Knights. Tickets are available at the arena or online.
