PETERS TAKES HOME SECOND-STAR HONOURS IN WEEK ONE OF THE PJHL

The Coastal Tsunami are off to a hot start in their inaugural season, with a 3-0 record.

Multiple players have certainly risen to the occasion and contributed to the team’s success, but one player has received more recognition than the others.

Nick Peters has been named the PJHL’s second star of the week in their first rankings week. He is the first and only Tsunami player to make the list this season.

Goaltender and team captain Nick Peters has posted 2.00 goals against average and 0.960 save percentage in three games. The former VIJHL all-star allowed four goals in the season opener in Abbotsford but has only given up two goals in the past two games against North Vancouver and Port Moody.

Peters has lived up to all the expectations he has had. He gave a captain-like answer when asked what it means to be named the second star of the week. “I am honoured to be named the 2nd star of the week; I couldn’t have done it without my teammates,” he said.

With two games at the GACC this weekend, you can watch Peters and the Tsunami on Friday and Sunday. White Rock visits on Friday, and Aldergrove visits on Sunday.
